What the National Weather Service wrote

An impactful round of severe thunderstorms occurred during the late afternoon and evening of the July 4th Holiday across northern and central Oklahoma. Initial thunderstorm clusters produced sporadic large hail and wind damage across northern Oklahoma, especially in Noble and Payne Counties. Later in the evening, strong outflow boundaries (with associated intense thunderstorm activity) merged across/near the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. The resultant more organized thunderstorm line went on to produce a significant corridor of damaging winds across the southwestern Oklahoma City area, Moore, Norman and Noble. This included several measured wind gusts of 75-95 mph. Similar events (in type of damage, space and time) from the city of Norman included in this episode are combined. Thus, events included likely do not capture the full scope of damage across the city of Norman.
