What the National Weather Service wrote

Scattered thunderstorm development occurred across central and southern Oklahoma during the late afternoon into evening of the 4th. This activity was fostered by a cold frontal passage across the aforementioned areas throughout the day. The combination of locally strong instability and modest organizing/deep-layer wind shear favored single and multi-cell thunderstorm modes. The strongest (severe) thunderstorms produced damaging downburst wind gusts and a few reports of hail.
