What the National Weather Service wrote

A potent storm system moving across Arizona dragged a cold front from west to east across south-central AZ. Along and ahead of the cold front, a line of showers and thunderstorms affected most of south-central Arizona resulting in frequent lightning, pea-sized hail, moderate to locally heavy rainfall as well as strong wind gusts in excess of 40 mph.
