What the National Weather Service wrote

Daytime heating combined with monsoon moisture in place resulted in the development of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across the higher terrain midday slowly moving south and southeast into nearby lower elevations during the afternoon and early evening hours. One of these thunderstorms resulted in a 58 mph wind gust at the Santa Fe Municipal Airport. Thunderstorms tapered off shortly after sunset with the loss of daytime heating.
