What the National Weather Service wrote

A strong thunderstorm complex that developed over Yavapai County during the afternoon hours sent a southward surging outflow boundary across western portions of the Phoenix metro area. Wind gusts from the outflow boundary based on surrounding observing sites were estimated in the 40-50 mph range, which was enough to cause some minor tree damage, specifically in the Glendale area.
